IIIiteracy: 20 March 2013

A recap of tonight’s Conference III action with help from the geniuses at SportsYapper:

Colorado 4, Dallas 3: In the big clash of the night, Colorado got a two point night from Chuck Kobasew, who is not an MMA fighter, his name notwithstanding. Dallas chipped into the league’s celebration of NHL 94 with goals from Jaromir Jagr (who was, indeed, Dallas’ only star) and Ray Whitney. It’s been a tough year in the Mile High City, but things are looking up. Also, this guy offers front-office advice.

Minnesota 4, Detroit 2 : Devin Setoguchi continued his wonderful run of form with a pair in another big win for the Fightin’ Adjectives at the Joe, although it could be because the Wild were icing 10 men. Despite being solidly in the middle of the playoff pack, things are rough in Motown. They’re just waiting for the Tigers to start up. And a special shout-out to our Yapper of the Night, a true Conference III hero.

Anaheim 4, Chicago 2: A brilliant game befitting the league’s two best teams. Teemu Selanne’s game winner was his first goal in 10 games and came just a minute after Bobby Ryan tipped in the tying goal in the third to complete the comeback which started when the Ducks were asked to be badder. Conference III’s top team drew a franchise-record standing-room only crowd to the Honda Center. You’re welcome, Anaheim. Conflicting opinions out of the Windy City: optimistic and pessimistic.
