Chicago wrested back the belt by beating Nashville 3-1 Dec. 17, ending the Predators 31-day run that began with a 7-2 defeat of those same Blackhawks. Colorado is the last team to get a belt match and one of only two (Dallas is the other) that’s yet to hold the belt.

If Chicago retains, they have to turn around and defend the belt again tomorrow against St. Louis. Colorado won’t get to rest on their laurels if they win, either; the Avs will face a challenge Sunday against Winnipeg.
