Tonight, Chicago travels to St. Louis to defend the Conference III Championship Belt for the second time in two days, after Patrick Sharp got hats and a belt for his birthday with the Hawks retaining by virtue of a 7-2 win over Colorado Friday night.

This is the third time the Blues and Blackhawks have squared off for the belt with St. Louis winning the first two back in October during their season-opening belt run.

Three games, three belt matches for the two best teams in Conference III. It’s St. Louis’ first shot at the Belt since their season-opening run.

If the Blues manage to wrest back the belt, they’ll turn around and defend it against the Dallas Stars tomorrow, the third Belt Game in three days after the Christmas break. Should Chicago retain, they’ll defend it again Jan. 14 against the Avalanche.
