The schedule is a tough mistress, as Colorado, despite its impressive and surprising season, has only had one prior shot at the title belt, losing to Chicago December 27, who then dropped the Belt to the Blues the next day, from whence St. Louis has held it ever since.

No matter today’s outcome, the Belt will be up for the taking soon. It’s no rest for the weary if St. Louis successfully defends, as they’ll take on the Wild tomorrow night. Colorado, should they win the Belt for the first time, will defend Monday night at home against Winnipeg.
