Conference III Championship Belt Tale of The Tape: Minnesota at Colorado, 11 October 2014

by J.R.

The Avalanche’s 188-day run with the Conference III Belt came to an end Opening Night with a 5-0 shellacking in St. Paul. Can Minnesota extend their title run, their first in nearly a year?

We’ll find out tonight, but first the tale of the tape:

The Challenger: Colorado!

The Champion: Colorado!

The Champion: Minnesota!

After the thrashing they took Thursday, the only silver lining for Colorado is another quick chance to get the Belt back, and this time at home.

If the Avs do get the belt back, the next defense will come October 26 against the Jets in Winnipeg. If Minnesota retains, the Wild will host the Stars for the Belt November 1.

Puck drops tonight 7 PM Mountain and 6 PM across the rest of Conference III.
